Announcement on Regulating Technical Requirements of Methyl Bromide Fumigation Treatment for Wooden Packages of Entry-Exit Commodities
 
 
According to technical requirements of methyl bromide fumigation treatment in the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 “Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade” revised by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) in April, 2006, the technical requirements of methyl bromide fumigation treatment prescribed in the AQSIQ Announcement No.32, 2005 and AQSIQ Order “Administrative Measures of Quarantine Treatment to Wooden Packages for Exported Products” are rectified as follows:
Methyl Bromide Fumigation (MB)
 
1. Under normal pressure, treatment shall be undertaken according to the following standards:

2. The minimum temperature of fumigation shall be 10℃, while the minimum time for fumigation shall be 24 hours. During the fumigation treatment, examination of fumigation density shall be conducted at the second hour, the fourth hour, the twelfth hour and the 24th  hour respectively as of it begins.
  
   For wooden packages treated according to former technical requirements of methyl bromide fumigation treatment and attached with the marks before implementation of this Announcement, it is not necessary to be retreated according to the new technical requirements. 
  
   This Announcement shall go into effect as of October 1st, 2006.
